HOME STUDY PRICING
PRE-PLACEMENT HOME STUDY-$979/$1179 TO INCLUDE A FUTURE POST-PLACEMENT REPORT ($129 DISCOUNT)
A Pre-Placement home study is necessary for adoption hopeful parents. Pre-placement reports include compiling information regarding the health, financial suitability, and motivation for adoption. After an adoption hopeful family has a child placed with them, a post-placement report to the court is needed before the adoption is finalized. The post-placement report includes an assessment of how the child is doing in the home. Post-placement reports are normally $329. Families have the option of receiving a $129 DISCOUNT if paying for both reports at the time of their pre-placement home study. This is a non-refundable offer.
UPDATED HOME STUDY UNDER TWO YEARS $579/$779 OVER TWO YEARS
An updated home study is for families with a prior Finding Forever or State approved Home Study who are either still awaiting placement of a child or wish to adopt another child. If the prior home study is less than two years old the updated home study charge is $579 and if the prior report is more than two years old the updated home study charge is $779.
POST-PLACEMENT HOME STUDY-$200/$329
Post-placement reports are necessary before an adoption is finalized and are completed after a child has been placed in the adoption hopeful home. Post-placement reports are $329. Adoption hopeful families can receive a $129 discount if they also wish to pay for the non-refundable post-placement report at the time of their pre-placement report.
SECOND PARENT ADOPTION HOME STUDY-$979/$1179 FOR EXPEDITED REQUEST
A second parent adoption can occur when it's in the best interest of the child to terminate the parental rights to a parent, but the primary parent is not in a relationship with a significant other. In Washington and Idaho you cannot terminate the rights of an abusive or absent parent unless there is another suitable adult (such as a grandparent) who wants to adopt the child as a second parent.
STEP-PARENT ADOPTION HOME STUDY-$329/$499 FOR EXPEDITED REQUEST
Step-parent adoption home studies are for adoptive hopeful step-parents who have already been living with and caring for the child for at least a year. In order for a step-parent to be eligible for a post-placement home study they need to be legally married to the child's parent for at least a year, otherwise a full home study is required.
MILAGE/TRAVEL COSTS-56¢ PER MILE
Finding Forever tries to keep service rates low in order to enable more children to be adopted. In some cases clients may find hiring a Finding Forever social worker more financially advantageous to them even when adding travel cost. Finding Forever is based in Spokane County, Washington. Mileage is charged at 56 cents per mile driven outside of Spokane County.
Finding Forever will retain a 30% non-refundable service fee from the original contract fee payment if the report(s) cannot be approved for any reason. We require all families to go through a pre-screening process and we will not accept deposits from clients whom we do not believe will benefit from our recommendation. The prices listed above are reflective of our current rates and are subject to changes in the future.
ADDITIONAL FEES & OUR GUARANTEE
This fee is only applicable if you're asking for a private home study after previously having a denied home study from another agency or provider. You must provide a copy of your previously denied home study for review by our provider as part of the process. During your home study your adoption consultant will review your previously denied home study and consider any extenuating circumstances along with the specific needs of the child(ren) you wish to adopt.
The fees listed above represent pricing for assessing the potential adoption of two children. There is an additional fee of $50 when the report is for more than two children at the time of the home study process. This fee does not apply to post-placement reports.
We know you've already waited a long time in your journey "Finding Forever" and so we always make it our mission to generate our reports as quickly as possible; however, this fee applies if you're making a specific request for an expedited report. If we are unable to process your request we will let you know.
